Lee Robinson is a largely self-taught Wellington based artist and has been developing her painting practice for the past 8 years.  She has regularly exhibited her work in Wellington and has also completed many commissions.  Her paintings are held in private collections in NZ, Australia, Canada and Europe.   Robinson paints in acrylic in a realistic style and her subject matter has evolved over the years.  Currently her paintings explore our beautiful landscapes, home environment, and distinctly NZ lifestyle.  She is also increasingly interested in portraiture and intends to develop this further.   Inspiration for this recent series of paintings is drawn from everyday life: scenes of domesticity, family life at home, trips to the park or beach.  By depicting these familiar images, beauty often overlooked in our own lives is highlighted and brought to the viewers attention.  A slight twist to the perspective gives a fresh and contemporary feel to her work.  .
